FAQ's
How often should I service my air conditioner?
Both ACCA, the governing board for HVAC in North America and most manufacturers recommend having the system serviced a minimum of one time per year.
How often should I change my air filters?
This can be different from home to home. Lifestyle, pets and filter location are all factors that determine how long a filter will last. Never assume a filter will last exactly what it says on the side of the filter.
What temperature should I set my thermostat at?
Set the thermostat at whatever temperature you are comfortable! The only other factor that should matter is the cost of operation vs. budget. Keeping the system clean and maintained will help keep those operational costs down and help the system to operate at peak efficiency.
How long should my air conditioner last?
Typically, a well-maintained system can last 10-15 years before you encounter a large repair. A point will come when a new air conditioner will simply make more sense. New, more efficient systems will remove heat and humidity better, saving you energy and reducing your electric bill while keeping your home more comfortable. All of our new systems have a 10-year warranty.
How much is a new air conditioning system?
There are several variables to consider when pricing a new air conditioner. Capacity, efficiency, and configuration must be taken into account when replacing equipment. Sentry Air offers free in-home consultation to ensure you get an accurate proposal that best meets your needs.
